RSAC 2025 Recap: Strategic Shifts, AI Disruption, and Hyperproof in Action

Updated on: May 21, 2025 5 Minute Read

RSAC 2025 set a new benchmark, drawing a record-breaking 44,000 attendees and over 650 sponsors, cementing its status as the premier global cybersecurity event. For Hyperproof, this year marked our second as a sponsor, and our biggest presence yet. From debuting new product capabilities to engaging with customers, partners, and cybersecurity leaders, RSAC 2025 was an energizing reminder of how fast the GRC landscape is evolving and how essential it is to reduce complexity, improve visibility, and mature compliance and risk programs in step.

What we heard from security leaders: 5 takeaways from RSAC

RSAC is more than an expo; it’s a barometer for the priorities, pressures, and predictions that shape the industry. Several key themes emerged from our conversations with CISOs, directors, and compliance leaders:

1. AI: a double-edged sword

Security teams are integrating AI across the stack, from digital forensics to endpoint detection, but we saw a growing concern about the rise of “Dark LLMs” and AI-generated malware. While AI enables proactive threat detection, automation, and monitoring, it also introduces sophisticated new risks, including adversarial AI and weaponized bots. Leaders are actively seeking tools that can harness AI responsibly while maintaining oversight and accountability.

2. The shift back to prevention

After years of emphasizing detection and response, organizations are pivoting toward prevention-first strategies. This means investing in controls, identity management, and real-time intelligence to stop threats before they spread. Hyperproof’s approach — enabling real-time control monitoring and risk-based prioritization — fits squarely into this trend, helping security and compliance teams get ahead of issues before they become incidents.

3. Identity and network security are being reimagined

With hybrid work and cloud-first environments expanding attack surfaces, traditional endpoint security is no longer enough. The perimeter has shifted to identity, and CISOs are exploring passwordless authentication, adaptive access, and network segmentation to secure complex environments. There’s also renewed interest in browser security, which is becoming a primary control point in distributed, AI-driven workspaces.

4. Security needs human context

Even as automation becomes standard, human oversight remains crucial. The best programs combine AI’s speed with expert review, contextual understanding, and strategic decision-making. Attendees emphasized the need for platforms that streamline workflows without removing human control, reinforcing Hyperproof’s commitment to human-in-the-loop risk and compliance management.

5. Collaborative threat intelligence is on the rise

Cross-industry collaboration is reshaping cybersecurity. CISOs emphasized the importance of shared intelligence, especially as AI escalates the speed and complexity of threats. Vendors that actively listen to customer needs and develop capabilities based on real operational challenges are winning trust. At Hyperproof, we see this as a validation of our customer-led roadmap and commitment to transparency.

Hyperproof at RSAC 2025: our biggest year yet

Our booth was buzzing with energy throughout the week. Hundreds of attendees stopped by to talk shop, grab some standout swag, and participate in our on-site activations. We hosted a photo booth experience, offered an exclusive giveaway for current customers, and engaged attendees in an interactive scavenger hunt that rewarded curiosity with limited-edition gear. Congratulations to our winner, Si Vale, who won a pass to HyperConnect and hotel accommodations!

InfoSec Pros on the road

In the midst of the show floor bustle, we hosted nine interviews as part of our InfoSec Pros series, the first of which you can check out now! Watch our conversation with Scott Francis, a Principal Director and Americas Lead for Cyber Next, Accenture’s emerging tech security practice to discuss the future, from post-quantum computing to space systems.

Launching our partnership with HyperComply

We also showcased the launch of our new HyperComply capabilities through in-booth messaging and a great interview with Amar Chahal, Co-Founder and CEO at HyperComply, highlighting how we’re helping organizations automate security questionnaires and proactively build trust at scale.

Did you see our street ads?

Beyond the show floor, our presence extended to 35 branded street ads around Moscone Center throughout downtown San Francisco, amplifying awareness and reinforcing our message: that GRC should be a strategic enabler, not a burden.

Executive happy hour at Kona’s Street Market

We capped the week with an executive happy hour at Kona’s Street Market, co-hosted with Tevora, where dozens of CISOs and director-level leaders gathered for conversations about the future of cybersecurity, compliance, and governance.

Final takeaways

RSAC 2025 made one thing clear: the cybersecurity landscape is evolving faster than ever, and GRC teams are expected to keep up. Whether it’s adopting AI responsibly, embedding security by design, or breaking down silos between IT, risk, and compliance teams, the message was consistent: organizations that align security and compliance strategically will be best positioned to thrive.

We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by our booth, joined us at events, and shared insights that will shape our roadmap. We look forward to continuing these conversations at HyperConnect 2025 in San Diego and again at Black Hat later this year, where we’ll see how these trends continue to unfold.

Until then, stay secure.
